Default 1979 300TE wagon won't start

I just got this car today, in non-running condition. I know it was a pig in a poke, but it was cheap. I bought it mostly because I have a very similar car for parts. Whatever I need is virtually free for the removing.

I have checked several things including pulling the plugs and seeing if each one sparked when plugged into the plug wire ends. I have tried priming the fuel system by putting a small amount of gas atop what would normally be called the throttle butterfly, and may still be, then depressing it. I even tried ether starting fluid. I cracked open the fuel line just ahead of the injection pump, and fuel squirted out under pressure when I turned on the key. The car cranks strong, but won't even act like it wants to start. The firing order appears to be correct.

I know the former owners have spent a lot of $$ to keep this thing going. I think they gave up several months ago which might cause the injectors to be plugged with old fuel, but that should be at least temporarily alleviated by the priming I did. I have spark and primer fuel, so why won't it go?

How can I check the injectors themselves?
