Anybody have any experience with ace forged wheels (www.aceforged.com) I'm considering going forged on my S550.
Last set I bought were one piece regular cast 19" wheels from usarim (www.usarim.com) for my E500 and I want to go with something a little more tricked out for this car. Anybody have feeedback on forged vs. cast or have direct experience with Ace? Thanks in advance for the info! |

Generally, a forged wheel will be lighter than a cast wheel of a similar diameter and width, and stronger than a cast wheel of the same weight or near the same weight. So, again in general, of a high quality forged wheels cost more, be stronger "lbs" and lighter "per inch" than cast wheels. The reputation of weakness occurs in a part of the daily use of potholed streets extremely lightweight wheels for racing on smooth surfaces. I think the trick is to go light w / o going too light, sticking with a manufacturer of quality that is realistic about how and where you drive and understanding, unless you luck into a big sale, you will pay more...
