Seems like we have several people finding their way over from JeepForum.
What do you got? Here is the only picture I have on my laptop. Right now it's completely torn apart installing a new gear box, power steering pump and header install. |

Nice Jeep. I have a project 1991 Wrangler that I am swapping Dana 44 axles into at the moment because I grenaded my D35.

First a (crummy) picture of the two cars together. I've got to do a better one.
Here's the YJ. We had just successfully (and unplanned) negotiated Hurricane Pass (12,400 ft) in Colorado, scaling the mountain up a very narrow gravel trail with a couple thousand feet of air literally inches from the tires. White knuckle in the extreme, by the time this peaceful picture was taken my wife and I were in a state of adrenaline collapse. And here's my 'cool' Jeep. 1947 CJ2A. Just got it on the road. |

I never understood why they stop using wood paneling on cars.

They got away from real wood sides eons ago, probably because of cost, weight, repair cost, public demand, etc. The "wood" on my Grand Wagoneer is the glue on crap, like wood grain shelf paper only better. It lasts a long time, but cost a fortune to replace....if you can find it. Then it is not NOS, it is usually non-standard aftermarket stuff. All of the wood on the interiors of my vintage Benzes is real though. So there is a little still around on some vehicles, just not on the outside to my knowledge.

If your looking to replace the wood on a Benz, do you have to go factory or can you make it yourself?

I have a 2008 Grand Cherokee. The CRD fits my needs better than Chrysler's Hemi.
