Apologies, I do not know what class this model fits in. A friend has asked me to change the brake master cylinder in her 1986 Mercedes 560SEC. I have experience with brakes, including changing a master cylinder, but never on a Mercedes.
I have a few questions - thanks in advance to anyone that can offer any insight. 1. It looks like I will need to swap the reservoir. Does the factory one pull straight off or is there a trick to it? 2. (When installed) there is a bolt on the left side of the master, am I correct assume this is a bleeder valve? 3. I have never changed a master cylinder that did not require a bench bleed, but have never seen one with a built-in bleeder valve. Does this master still require a bench bleed? (assuming this is a bleeder valve). 4. What 'Class' does this model fit in? 5. Any special instructions or processes required? 6. Any other tips or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Carl S Last edited by justanotherjpr; 07-06-2010 at 01:21 AM. |
